It is brought to your attention that as part of this arrangement with the High Commission of India, Singapore, a service charge of S$9 inclusive of GST per passport is applicable. This charge is in addition to the visa as well as any other fees payable to the High Commission of India, Singapore.

Types of Visas

Tourist Visa
Is issued only to applicants who are traveling to India for tourism/social purposes. Applicant needs to submit the application form along with one colored passport-size photograph.

There should a gap of at least one month between the expiry of the previous Tourist Visa and application date of the current Visa. Tourist visa cannot be extended in India.

Introduction of “Tourist Visa-on-Arrival”
To facilitate bonafide foreign tourists who plan their tours at a short notice, Government of India has decided to introduce “Tourist Visa-on-Arrival” for a period of one year for citizens on an experimental basis w.e.f. 1.1.2010. Tourists from the said countries can also procure their visas from the Missions / Posts in the normal course.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE:

  1. Citizens with valid passports of the following countries:
  2. Finland
    Japan
    Luxembourg
    New Zealand
    Singapore
    Cambodia,
     Laos,
    Vietnam,
     Philippines
    Myanmar
     Indonesia

  3. Visiting India for the purpose of tourism (recreation, sight seeing, visiting friends and relatives)

  4. Fulfills all other criteria for grant of normal tourist visa to India like assured financial standing (production of return ticket and proof of availability of sufficient funds to spend in India), passport of at least six month validity and re-entry permit if required.

WHO IS NOT ELIGIBLE:

  1. A  citizen of the any of the above countries who was or whose parents or grand parents (paternal or maternal) were born in, and were permanently resident in Pakistan.
  2. Persons holding Diplomatic/ Official passports
  3. A person who is a resident of India and /or works in India
  4. A person who is declared persona non grata by Government of India and is not the subject of a black list or any warning circular or other restrictive list.

VALIDITY
The Visa on Arrival is valid for a single entry into India for a period of upto 30 (thirty) days.This Visa is non-extendable and non-convertible and will be issued at arrival only at the designated international airports of Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata. Only two visits on a Tourist Visa-on-Arrival shall be permissible in a calendar year and there shall be a gap of at least two months between each visit.

FEE
The fee for the visa on arrival is USD 60 (Sixty United States Dollars) or equivalent amount in Indian Rupees per passenger (including children).

It may be noted that the Visa on Arrival scheme is only a facility for citizens of the above-named countries who are unable to apply for a visa at the designated Indian Missions due to some reasons.

The said “Tourist Visa-on-Arrival” with a maximum validity of 30 days with single entry facility shall be granted by the Immigration Officers at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata airports to start with.

The grant of a “Tourist Visa-on-Arrival” shall be regulated as per the guidelines prescribed in the Visa Manual.

Transit Visa
The same is valid for direct transit only. Proof of confirmed reservations for onward journey from India should be submitted along with the visa application and two coloured photographs.

Business Visa
It is the Endeavour of the High Commission to ensure that Singapore nationals applying for business visas are issued visas on the same day. 

Student Visa
This visa is issued for the duration of the course for those students studying in regular academic courses in India. The students should submit proof of admission to an educational institution recognized by the Government of India.

Journalist Visa
Journalists and media personnel traveling to India for work-related purposes need special clearance.

Conference Visa
Are issued for attending conferences/seminar/meetings in India. A letter of invitation from the organizer of the conference is to be submitted along with the visa application. Delegates coming to attend conferences may combine tourism with attending conference.

Employment Visa
Are issued to skilled and qualified professionals or persons who are engaged or appointed by companies, organizations, economic undertakings as technicians, technical experts, senior executives etc. Applicants are required to submit proof of contract/employment/engagement of foreign nationals by the company or organizations

Transfer of Visa
Submit duly filled up and signed visa application form with old and new passport. If visa is issued in Singapore, transfer of visa, from old passport to new passport is issued against payment of S$10/- on next working day. If visa is issued by Indian Mission abroad, processing time is 5 working days and fee charged is S$20 for fax and S$10 for transfer. In case of US national, fee charged is S$ 20 for fax and S$ 50 for transfer.
